What guests want to know

Restaurant website design that fills tables.

A guest who looks up a restaurant wants three answers: what is on the menu, how does the place feel, and is there a table tonight. Good restaurant website design answers those three in that order.

So your menu gets its own page that reads easily on a phone. Your photos show the room, the kitchen and the plates. The reservation button sits at the top of every page.

Google reviews appear right under the first screen. A guest reads what others thought before choosing where to eat.

The menu

A website for a restaurant starts with a menu as real text.

Guests open the menu first. Publish it as real text on the page. Text loads at once on any phone, and Google can read your dishes. A PDF asks a guest to download and zoom.

  1. Dishes with a short descriptionName the main ingredients and mark what is vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. A guest chooses faster.
  2. Allergens stated clearlyGuests with an allergy look this up before they book. A clear statement gives them confidence.
  3. Photos of your own dishesYour own photos of the kitchen, the plates and the room show a guest what to expect.
  4. Lunch, dinner and seasonal menus apartA separate menu per moment keeps everything easy to scan. Change with the season and we update it.
  5. A reservation button under each menuSomeone who reads the menu often wants a table right away. The button is waiting there.

Reservations

A restaurant website with reservations built in.

A guest books at the moment the craving starts, often in the evening on the couch. Your website takes the reservation and places it in your calendar, with a confirmation by email.

Many restaurants also use a reservation platform such as OpenTable, Resy or TheFork. Your own site works next to those. A direct booking keeps the guest details with you, so you can invite that guest back.

  1. Book from any pageA fixed button takes the guest to a free time slot in a few taps.
  2. An AI chatbot for practical questionsOpening hours, parking, the terrace, dogs: the chatbot answers, in the evening and on weekends too.
  3. Follow-up after the visitAfter dinner the guest receives an automatic thank you and a request for a Google review.

Lead magnet

A group booking check for parties and company dinners.

Groups are the large bookings of a restaurant. With a group booking check, a guest enters the party size, the occasion and the date. Your proposal for a group menu follows by email or WhatsApp.

You receive a request with every detail in it, and the guest gets an answer while still planning. We built checks like this for Dutch caterers: the menu check for Ray's Kitchen and the Hapjescheck for Hapjesgigant in Zwolle.

The Hapjescheck asks three questions and tells the visitor how many bites to order per person. The same idea works for private dining, brunch parties and wedding rehearsal dinners.

Reviews and listings

The review platforms that matter for a restaurant.

Guests compare restaurants on Google Maps, Tripadvisor and Yelp. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Tripadvisor carries a lot of weight. In the United States, Yelp does as well.

Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a guest sees. Keep the hours, the photos, the menu link and the reservation link current. Your website and your profile strengthen each other.

Use the same name, address and phone number on every listing. Consistent details help Google trust that each listing belongs to the same restaurant.

Local search

Restaurant web design that gets found in your own city.

Guests search by cuisine and place: Italian restaurant near me, best brunch in a certain neighborhood, sushi open now. A site with your cuisine, your city and your neighborhood in the titles matches those searches.

As your restaurant website designer we add structured data, a small block of code that tells Google your cuisine, address, hours and menu page. Every month we work on your SEO, including visibility in AI search such as ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews.

Frequently asked questions

Good to know.

What should a restaurant website include?

The menu as text, opening hours, address, photos of the room and the dishes, Google reviews and a reservation button on every page. Add a group booking check for parties and company dinners.

Can guests reserve a table through my website?

Yes. Online booking with a calendar link is standard in every website we build. The guest picks a time, the reservation lands in your calendar and a confirmation goes out by email.

Can I keep using OpenTable or Resy?

Yes. Your website can send guests to the platform you already use, or take direct bookings next to it. Direct bookings keep the guest details with you.

Should my menu be a PDF or text?

Text. It reads at once on every phone and Google can read it, so guests also find you by dish or cuisine. Keep a PDF only as an extra download for printing.

What does a restaurant website cost with Delta Six?

You pay nothing upfront. We build the site free first and show it in a 15-minute online showcase. We discuss the investment once you want to continue, and you only pay when you're happy.

Do you also build for cafes, bars and bakeries?

Yes. The parts change with the business: a bar leans on events and atmosphere, a cafe on hours and the daily menu, a bakery on orders for pickup.
